District 230 is celebrating the remarkable academic achievements of five students - four who earned the prestigious title of 2025 National Merit Semifinalists and one standout senior who accomplished the rare feat of a perfect ACT score. These milestones reflect not only individual brilliance but also the dedication and hard work that thrives within all of our schools.

Semifinalists
About 16,000 semifinalists nationwide are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise, according to information provided by NMSP. Semifinalists represent less than 1% of US high school seniors. They will continue in the 2025 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards and will compete nationally for nearly $26 million in scholarships that will be awarded next spring. 

Perfect ACT
Only about one-quarter of 1% of students who take the ACT earn the top score. According to ACT, earning a top score on the ACT will provide any college or university with ample evidence of their readiness for the academic rigors that lie ahead.
