Competitive Clubs compete against outside teams, other high schools, in a variety of tournaments, matches, and competitions as part of a structured regional or national league. These clubs have coaches/sponsors and attend regularly scheduled practices.
GOVERNMENT/POLITICAL ISSUE CLUBS
Government/Political Issues Clubs provide a forum for students to learn about, discuss, and cogitate both domestic and international events, issues, and ideas.
Honors Societies Clubs recognize students who excel academically or as leaders among their peers in specific academic disciplines. These societies invite students to become members based on the scholastic rank (top 10 percent of a class) and/or grade point averages of those students, either overall or for classes taken within the discipline of which the honor society provides recognition.
Multicultural/International Clubs promote cultural awareness and the fellowship of all Carl Sandburg High School Students. These clubs provide opportunities for students to learn and appreciate their own backgrounds, interests, values, and beliefs as well as the diverse backgrounds of other student groups.
Occupational Clubs offer opportunities for students to participate in real world workforce scenarios and to prepare for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations, and for further education.
Performing Arts Clubs seek to increase awareness and to discover the many talents among Carl Sandburg High School's student body and share their aptitudes in music, dance, and theater. These clubs then in turn nurture, develop and showcase these creative talents.
Publications Clubs report, produce, and issue content that is made available to the Carl Sandburg High School student body and staff.
Service Clubs promote fellowship among their members and are devoted to the principle of volunteer community service. They encourage community welfare and goodwill throughout the entirety of Carl Sandburg High School and it's surrounding communities.
SOCIAL JUSTICE CLUBS
Social Justice Clubs provide opportunities for self-transformation, leadership, and community building to students in order to affect meaningful change in their classrooms, at Carl Sandburg High School, and in their communities.
SPECIAL INTEREST CLUBS
Special Interest Clubs allow groups of students who share common interests to meet and carry out activities as organized bodies for educational or recreational purposes.
